Assistant Financial Controller

The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Financial Controller in the efficient management of the Finance Department by overseeing core accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, leading the Finance team, and driving continuous process improvements to support the organization's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Financial Controller in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, including leading, mentoring and developing team members, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
  • Preparing financial statements and annual budgets
  • Overseeing payroll operations, including timesheet processing and compensation, the submission of payroll liabilities, and resolution of any payroll discrepancies
  • Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Preparing monthly inventory reconciliation and valuation
  • Reviewing the reconciliation and valuation of imports, production parts, and lab supplies
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports, including management reports, variance analysis, etc.
  • Reviewing and updating current procedures and identifying process improvement and cost saving opportunities
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Accounting field, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • CPA license required
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sage Programs
  • Must be well-organized and committed to timely and accurate reporting
